Neil and I snorkeled at Honokeana Bay again while Nyleen waited on shore this morning. Always lots of turtles to see. Twice we had a couple of real close encounters with big old turtles on the surface which approached us as we were hovering still. One looked to have 3 big wart-like growths on its body near the front flipper. I dove to the bottom (about 20 feet) and the turtle followed me and may have been amused with my underwater acrobatics - Esther Williams style.
We then walked over to Kapalua Beach and I snorkeled all over the bay while the kids played in the sand. I went out again with my swim goggles and saw a zebra moray eel close to shore by where Neil was building a volcano. I told Neil to grab his goggles and he came out and spotted 2 zebra eels. I also encountered one triggerfish which kept making attacks at my mask and fins when I went out again with my snorkel gear. It had serious anger issues (like hippie surfer dude yesterday).
Volcano...
We had lunch again at Ono Kau Kau Mix Plate in Honokowa - very good and inexpensive place to eat.
We then headed to the Village Cafe and Sweet Shoppe in Kapalua for ice cream followed with 18 free challenging holes of putt putt golf - the scores... Dad 69, Neil 92 and Nyleen 104.
We then hiked the old abandoned golf course trails from the Village Cafe. Along the way, the kids enjoyed a wild guava and we picked a few more for juice at the condo...
The final steep section before we reached the lake...
Ducks and carp/goldfish at the lake...
Overgrown stairs to a tee box...
On the way back down the trails, the kids and I enjoyed seeing how far we could roll old golf balls we kept finding along the path.
Dinner was in the condo with half priced Ono (Wahoo) we got at the Napili Market and the kids watched the final episode of MasterChef.
